袁隆平学生带中国水稻“出圈”非洲

Li Li, vice-president of Hunan Academy of Agricultural Sciences and a former student of Yuan Longping, has spent 20 years advancing rice research. She developed Xizi 3, China’s first nationally approved low-cadmium rice variety, solving a global soil heavy metal problem.

李莉是湖南省农业科学院副院长，也是袁隆平的学生。她深耕水稻研究20年，培育出“西子3号”——中国首个通过国家审定的镉低积累水稻品种，解决了全球性土壤重金属污染难题。

Carrying on Yuan’s legacy, she promotes third-generation hybrid rice with higher yields and lower costs. She also shares Chinese hybrid rice technology with Africa via Belt and Road cooperation, training thousands of global researchers and building local labs to boost global food security.

她传承袁隆平精神，推广第三代杂交水稻，实现更高产量、更低成本。同时通过“一带一路”国际农业合作，向非洲分享中国杂交水稻技术，培训数千名国际科研人才、共建实验室，助力全球粮食安全。
